Before you book

Check when your MOT is due. You can have the test up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date.

Free. No sign-up. Data from the DVSA MOT history database.

Ask the garage for its price and whether it offers a free retest if the vehicle is repaired there.
Check lights, tyres, wipers and washer fluid before the test to avoid simple fails. See what is checked in an MOT.
After the test, the result appears in the vehicle's MOT history straight away.
